Maybe Imposter Syndrome Never Fully Goes Away…

Maybe Imposter Syndrome never fully goes away…

For those who may not be familiar with the term, Imposter Syndrome refer to “an internal experience of believing that you are not as competent as others perceive you to be.” Well said, Google.

Still, as much as it pains me to admit, it’s true…

I’ve been operating Mental Fitness for over three years now, and there are still times when I think, I don’t have a friggin clue what I’m doing!

I imagine we all must feel this way at certain points – with work, parenting, relationships, you name it! Yet, sometimes it’s not “fake it until you make it,” it’s “practice until it becomes the new you.”

I truly believe there are four types of thought that we all have:

  • The Dreamer
  • The Doer
  • The Doubter
  • The Hater

Ultimately, my goal is to be more Dreamer/Doer, but that doesn’t mean the Doubter/Hater goes away – it’s just a matter of taming it.

So here’s to all of us fighting the good fight. Feeding our beasts of positivity and trying to tame our demons of self-doubts and negativity.

It’s not an easy battle, but for me, it’s a fight worth fighting. #MentalFitness
