EDUCATIONAL PARTNERSHIPS

We work hand-in-hand with schools to embed Mental Fitness programming directly into their curriculum. Our flexible, evidence-based approach supports students' emotional intelligence, resilience, and mental health in alignment with academic goals. By becoming a school partner, you’re investing in the holistic development of your students and empowering them with tools that last a lifetime.

Mental Fitness is proud to be working with Erie McDowell high school, The University of
Pittsburgh School of Social Work, and Penn State Erie, The Behrend College. Through
these active partnerships we are implementing, training, and researching the Mental Fitness approach in a variety of in-person and virtual settings.

Depression and Anxiety

According to NIMH, approximately 20% of teenagers will experience a depressive episode by age 17. Similarly, according to the National Education Association, 30% of students report that anxiety negatively impacts their academic performance. Yet despite these numbers, schools tend to only offer reactive services to those students they can identify.

Here at Mental Fitness, we aim to give schools the tools to teach ALL students how to overcome depression and anxiety BEFORE it takes hold in their lives.

Substance Abuse

Red Ribbon Week is held each year from October 23 rd through October 31st . It is the nation’s largest and longest-standing drug prevention program.

Here at Mental Fitness, we offer speaking services designed to reach all students and to have an honest discussion on the negative effects of drugs. We aim to dissuade drug use by inspiring students to believe in themselves and their own potential.

Speaking

Over the past 8 years, Mental Fitness has spoke in Illinois, California, Tennessee, New York, Virginia, Maryland high schools and colleges in Pennsylvania, Ohio, New Jersey, South Carolina, and Florida.

Unlike most speakers who give a speech and nothing more, we offer educational material such as workbooks and personal journals, and interactive workshops as part of our speaking packages.

SEL

Social-emotional learning (SEL) is the process of developing skills and attitudes that help people manage their emotions, build healthy relationships, and make responsible decisions.

Mental Fitness is proud to collaborate with leading research institutions, including Penn State University, to ensure our programs are grounded in science and continuously evolving. Our research partners help us measure impact, explore emerging trends in youth wellness, and stay at the forefront of mental health innovation.

Our Unique Curriculum

Mental Fitness takes its participants beyond just removing symptoms and managing life. Rather, we aim to challenge our participants to master their thinking. Just like every one’s physical fitness can be improved and optimized, we give our participants the tools, skills, and guidance to optimize their Mental Fitness.

Emerging Trends

Mental Fitness aims to be on the cutting edge. Whereas other traditional approaches
emphasize studying disfunction and distress, Mental Fitness aims to promote and study self-growth, resilience, and grit. This shift in focus is both less stigmatizing, more approachable, and more applicable to all.

Youth Welness

Students don’t need to be learning the capitol of Idaho anymore. The need for rote memorization is no more. Rather, students need to learns how to master their thinking, stress, and emotions. They need to learn how to communicate, build healthy relationships, and social skills. Mental Fitness teaches all these skills and more.

Mental Health

We teach physical fitness in schools across the United States. The question is: Why aren’t we teaching Mental Fitness as well?”

The answer, quite frankly, is because no one has yet created the coursework to do so. Over the past 10 years of development, however, Mental Fitness has been created to be just that curriculum.

It doesn’t matter if it’s ice or grass… Whether it’s performance anxiety, lack of confidence, or inconsistent results, our Mental Fitness approach can help you build confidence, plan and visualize your goals, and overcome any mental toxicity that could be holding you back!

Chalk Talks

Is your team looking to add mental training to its programming? Start by having us in for a “Mental Fitness Chalk Talk.” In this introductory lesson, we discuss the seven toxic phrases that hold athletes back. In addition, we discuss the importance and power we have to control, not just the food we consume, but the thoughts we consume as well.

Off the Field

Injuries happen. They’re tough to overcome. Balancing athletic and academic demands on student life is incredibly challenging. Athletes have unique challenges unlike any others. Here at Mental Fitness, we’re her to support athletes as they regain their feet and navigate the unique challenges of their world.

Teamwork

Teams that don’t have trust off the field, won’t be able to mesh on the field. We help teams build trust by better getting to know one another, having fun together, and being more positive towards each other.
