The 20/60/20 Rule

There are many applications of the 20/60/20 Rule.

Sometimes it refers to how one feels day to day about their performance (good, decent, or bad), but for me, I like to use it more deliberately.

In training, I believe it helps to train…

20% of the time with someone who is better than you

60% of the time with someone who is your equal

20% of the time with someone who is lesser skilled than you

This can apply to sports or work. It can apply to learn an instrument or training for a marathon.

Sometimes we think monthly 10% increases are the only way to improve, but perhaps the 20/60/20 rule is also a path to improvement.

Try it for yourself and see what works best for you!
