Two Things I Used To Say
I’d like to discuss two things I used to say that I’ve tried to upgrade in the past year.

1. “All attention is positive.”
I used to “all attention is positive,” but the better way to say it is “all attention is reinforcing.”
Whether you’re trying to avoid drama in adult life or trying to train your kid’s behavior, it’s easy to accidentally reinforce negative behavior with attention.
So the next time you’re tempted to engage, lecture, or try to persuade, remember that all attention is reinforcing, and just how powerful your attention can be!
2. Practice makes perfect
I used to say “practice makes perfect,” but that’s not actually correct.
I now say “practice makes progress.”
