| When hiking back up the Grand Canyon, tour guides often warn the hikers that the top always seems very far away. This can be discouraging when it seems like you’ve been hiking forever, and yet, the top is no where in sight.
To inspire hikers to keep going, tour guides often encourage hikers to look backwards to see just how far they’ve come. This more clearly shows their progress and can motivate them to keep going.
The moral of the story is this…
No matter what your big goal is, sometimes it can be hard to see your progress and easy to get discouraged.
And yet, when you look back at how far you’ve come, the progress is clear.
Even when the finish line seems far off from where you’re at, don’t be afraid to look back every now and then to boost your confidence and keep things in perspective! |
